TOUR THE SEAQUELL

St. Kathryn Dock, Tower Bridge, London- June 28, 1997

StKatherineDock

Position: St. Kathryn Dock, Tower Bridge, London

The cruise from the Kiel canal to London was down the Holland coast, across the English Channel mixed with all the channel traffic and among oil rigs. We made an overnight anchorage in Harwich, England departing on a schedule to give us flood tide entering the Thames River. Cruised the Thames through the tidal control locks, past Greenwich, the zero time line separating the east and west for each day, and on to the Tower Bridge.

At the Tower Bridge, the limit of sailing yacht waters, we moored at the St. Kathryn docks. These docks are in the heart of London, fully surrounded by hotels and commercial buildings. Our skipper did a magnificent job of mooring our 105' into 107' of dockside. Being the largest yacht in the docks SeaQuell made an outstanding showing as 100's of vacationers and other boaters strolled by. This is by far the best and the most unique mooring we have been in and thanks to our skipper and crew for showing SeaQuell at her best.

June and John flew back to Mpls on June 30, the crew will deliver SeaQuell to Palma, Mallorca, Spain for us to rejoin on July 17 aling with guest to cruise the Balaeric Islands.
