Position: Port of call: Sydney -Sept. 11, 2000
Seaquell has arrived in Sydney!! This is the most brilliant port that
we have seen since starting our venture. It is deep, well developed
and the city is built around the ports activities. Many ferries are
used extensively for transportation to work and pleasure from the many
sections of the city. It is a city that has developed around the harbor
with a fantastic skyline of modern high-rise commercial buildings within
walking distance to the ferries that serve the 65 bay. It was a beautiful
view as we arrived sailing into the harbor under the famed Sydney Harbor
Bridge. The five Olympic rings had been added to the center of the bridge.
The outstanding sight was the Sydney Opera House. It is located near
the bridge and is the focal point of the city waterfront. The opera
house is one of the most unusual and uniquely designed buildings in
the world. Each city has its renowned buildings but none more memorable
than the Sidney opera house. It was most exciting as we sailed past
and will remain one of our unforgettable memories.
We were well received into our dockage and are ready to enjoy all the
wonderful parts of Sydney as well as the Olympics.
